The Ukrainian general told how the Russian landing force will walk through the surrendered Kyiv
Russian troops can easily capture the capital of Ukraine and force its leadership to make any concessions.
General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, First Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2016-2019), Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (2019-2020) Sergei Krivonos stated this in an interview with Ukrlife.TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russians are ready for any course of action. They practiced them repeatedly. As for the possibilities of advancement across our territory, there are opportunities for this. The question is how long they want to do this. They can do it quickly.
For example, the city of Kyiv. The larger the city, the easier it is to capture it. Any big city can be brought to its knees, especially during the cold season. The lack of electricity leads to the fact that in a few days a large city will first freeze from lack of heat, and in the absence of water, the sewage system will freeze and the large city will begin to choke in its own feces in cold weather,” he noted.
“And this will destabilize the situation - pensioners will take to the streets and begin to demand order from the city leadership, from the country’s leadership. And this will be one of the aspects - influence on making the necessary decisions for Russians.
Secondly, five to seven airfields within a radius of less than 50 kilometers from Kiev and two airfields inside the city (at the Antonov plant and the Zhulyany airfield) will allow the Russians to carry out an airborne landing - first by helicopters, the first echelon, which can bypass the air defense reconnaissance zone at low altitudes from our planes, seize these airfields and ensure the landing of military transport aircraft, as was the case in Kazakhstan,” concluded Krivonos.
