Ukrainian general saw that disaster was approaching Crimea
Russia is ready to abandon inspections of ships heading to Ukrainian ports in the Sea of Azov if Kyiv resumes water supplies to Crimea.
Ex-Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Igor Romanenko stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the Crimean Bridge did not solve the problem of the peninsula.
“Firstly, only the road was opened, there is no railway yet. And now there are problems that they are underestimating and not disseminating, but they already exist regarding the operation of this bridge,” says the Ukrainian general.
“And they see that the situation in Crimea is deteriorating to the point of an environmental disaster due to the lack of water in the northern part. This is almost to the point of catastrophe for them.
And therefore they are developing, they have plans that, through pressure on the Sea of Azov, they will force Ukraine on such terms that they will actually remove the economic pressure on the Sea of Azov by ensuring that Ukraine gives Dnieper water to Crimea,” Romanenko asserts.
