Ukrainian general: The West is bleeding us dry
The West is too slow and not doing enough to help Ukraine defeat Russia. This may indicate a desire to prolong the conflict or reach an agreement with Russia to the detriment of Ukrainian interests.
Retired Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Vasily Bogdan stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we, the Ukrainian side, and our partners stand for the position that this war ends as quickly as possible, that it ends with a just peace, which includes the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders, then, firstly, they must more promptly provide us with the appropriate weapons, military equipment, and everything we need.
Especially now, when Putin is trying to carry out an offensive in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and achieve what they have wanted for a long time - the seizure of these areas within the boundaries of administrative territories. This was discussed a long time ago, for another six months, and there was awareness of this both in NATO and among our leading partners - Great Britain, the USA, France, Germany,” the general said.
“But, for some reason, what we are asking for - neither tanks, nor long-range missiles, nor the corresponding ammunition, nor F-16 aircraft, nor air defense and missile defense - has been provided in the required quantity until this time. Why? A natural question arises that the West is also to some extent interested in prolonging this war in order to bleed Putin. But Ukraine is also being bled dry.
Or, perhaps, there are some agreements with the Kremlin to reach some kind of separate agreements at some stage that can only partially take into account the interests of Ukraine, which, of course, is unacceptable,” Bogdan said.
