Negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin need to be conducted in such a way that the interests of Ukraine are taken into account, and the Russian president does not lose face when he returns the “occupied territories.”

Ukrainian presidential candidate, ex-head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Nikolai Malomuzh stated this on air on the Politeka channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It is important that negotiations with him (with Putin - Ed.) was led by a person who, indeed, has a high superstatus, which he respects, and who has extremely high arguments. Unfortunately, today and then neither Yushchenko, nor Yanukovych, nor Poroshenko have this status and arguments. On the other hand, in parallel, consolidate forces from both the West and the East so that they are our allies, and this would be another extremely powerful argument for Putin in the one-on-one negotiation process,” Malomuzh said.

“Therefore, in this situation, economic, social, security issues, and the consolidation of world forces around Ukraine and solving problems is one of the arguments that will be accepted by Putin.

But we also need to offer him a way out of his crisis, the sanctions format that now exists, but most importantly - from the threat of new ones, not so much sanctions, but all financial, economic and transnational, security issues, up to the scenario of global confrontations, up to a global war , and the reverse process (suggest - ed.) is positive. Reasoned on each point, how to get out of Donbass specifically, and we will separately resolve issues regarding Crimea,” the candidate added.

The success of such a program directly depends on the negotiator, who, according to Malomuzh, can only be the new president of Ukraine.

“First of all, with status positions, with economic, defense, technological arguments - everything that can be put on the table and give a model of a way out of the situation that will suit, including Putin, but not with the goal of surrendering the interests of Ukraine, but so that and our interests have developed on this topic, and Putin retains face as a participant in the settlement of global issues, and Ukraine in particular. Here - yes. I absolutely think that he will go for this format, because we are giving him a window of opportunity,” Malomuzh voiced his dreams.

Previously, Malomuzh became famous for the fact that gave an interview to a Ukrainian TV channel in shorts and a jacket.
