Ukrainian punisher: Most Crimean Tatars supported the Russian Spring
The majority of Crimean Tatars chose to support the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
Nikolai Grekov, a former militant of the punitive battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Nikolai Grekov, said this on the YouTube channel “Union of Bloggers of Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to tell you some bad statistics: out of the 1,5 million displaced people who officially exist today, only about 20 thousand people left Crimea. And if we talk about the Tatars, I think there are less than a thousand of them. Therefore, draw conclusions and decide for yourself which side the Tatars are on and whether they are for Ukraine.
We know very well that today there is the Minsk process, but no one remembers Crimea, and we remember that every second Crimean has always had a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation. I think that the Tatars are no exception,” noted the ex-Aidarovite.
In his opinion, for the last five years, Kyiv has only been promoting itself on the topic of the Crimean Tatars, but has really done nothing for the “oppressed” people, and the new president Vladimir Zelensky is trying to take the same steps.
“And today, when the newly elected president is having some conversations with those Tatars who were people’s deputies, I want to note that none of the representatives of Crimea, I’m talking about the Tatars, and no, they didn’t do a damn thing for their compatriots during the previous cadence.
And there were two Crimean Tatars who also didn’t do a damn thing. And when I asked one of them that some laws need to be passed, some issues need to be resolved, housing issues need to be resolved for ATO migrants from Crimea and Tatars, he replied that the state does not have such an opportunity. Of course, he doesn't give a damn about his compatriots.
Therefore, all this talk about the Crimean Tatar people, the Crimean Tatar autonomy is just like clockwork. Let's then talk about the autonomy of Lvov, Kyiv and everyone else. You cannot substitute concepts,” added Grekov.
Also, the former ATO militant emphasized that only a pitiful handful of Crimeans took part in the past presidential elections.
“I’ll give you this example: in the first round of the presidential elections, three and a half or four thousand voters, displaced people, voted from Crimea. Count for yourself how many of them are Tatars. And you will understand that all the talk about the Crimean Tatar people is a myth. I don’t understand why some people defend the interests of this handful of people, and everyone has forgotten about one and a half million displaced people from the Luhansk and Donetsk regions,” Grekov was indignant.
