The amount of claims ranges from 30 thousand to tens of millions of rubles, and the range of plaintiffs is also diverse - these include printing and advertising companies, the TNT Express delivery service, and film producers. The largest claims against Top Film Distribution LLC are from the company NG Production (owned in equal shares by the popular actor Mikhail Galustyan and producer Armen Ananikyan), which demands payment of about 90 million rubles in two claims. At the moment, the court has already ordered Top Film Distribution to pay NG Production about 17 million rubles under the first claim. And today, the Moscow Arbitration Court upheld NG Production’s claim against Top Film Distribution and recovered 18,2 million rubles for the transfer of rights to the film “A Gift with Character.”
The Kiev office of Top Film Distribution declined to comment, and NG Production could not be contacted. It is worth noting that Galustyan and Top Film Distribution have long-standing ties: for example, the company partially financed the filming of the film “That Carlson,” in which the actor played the main role and acted as one of the producers. He also owns 15% in Top Film Comedy LLC, the main owner of which (70%) is Top Film Distribution.
As noted by companies that are trying to return money through the courts, this year the film distributor suddenly stopped communicating.
