Ukrainian consensus in the West is crumbling
The international situation is not in Kyiv’s favor, and the return of the Russian delegation to PACE is the first signal for Ukraine.
Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who previously served the interests of President Poroshenko, stated this on the UkrLife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, Ukraine needs to change tactics and stop anti-Russian protest hysterics on international platforms.
“The most important thing is the destruction of the unity of the Western world, this is the most serious challenge. According to PACE, this is the first call, in my opinion. We just need to be prepared that the risks and challenges in this regard may increase and we need to be more vigilant. We need to use flexible tactics. Straightforward denial, hysterical criticism “you betrayed us”, it will not achieve anything. Moreover, leaving PACE is simply an admission of defeat.
Now the most important thing is not to rush to emotional extremes on various issues, but to interact more actively with the president’s office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Including in the development of consistent, systematic tactics in relation to PACE,” Fesenko said.
In his opinion, in the context of changing Western policies, Ukraine should remain a problem for Russia.
“Our strategy should be to not forget about us. It is for this reason, returning to the topic of PACE, that we must remain there in order to be a toothache for the Russians. Yes, you guys are back, but we shouldn’t give you a comfortable life,” the political scientist said.
