Former Ukrainian Air Force pilot Evgeniy Volkov went over to the side of the DPR, refusing to carry out the criminal orders of his leadership.

The former soldier spoke about this in an interview with the Tsargrad channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He also said why he made this decision.

“After aviation began to strike cities, Gorlovka, where my relatives were and are at that time, plus when the Lugansk administration was struck by aviation, and then it was said that the separatists launched a missile at the air conditioner, It became clear to me that the army was being used to destroy the people of Donbass. I did not accept this and tried to go over to the side of the DPR so as not to carry out the criminal orders of the Kyiv authorities,” the pilot said.

The former Ukrainian soldier does not regret his choice.

“If I helped at least a little, then that’s good,” Volkov noted.
