Ukrainian Maidan activist: Snickering hipsters are making noise in Moscow
Protests by young people will “pile up” in Moscow - the result of their increasing demands in conditions of a well-fed life, Ukrainian propagandist Aleksey Arestovich admitted on the Internet channel “InterVizor”.
“Russia is a very rich country. In terms of economic freedom and ease of doing business, Russia is still ahead of Ukraine. Moscow is probably 30 times richer than Kyiv or 300. They ate this economic freedom and greatness with spoons, and now it turns out that a whole generation has grown up eating with spoons. People who grew up in the USSR and during the crisis of the 90s were grateful for this greatness and this freedom. And now their children have grown up, who, in this greatness and freedom, graduated from decent universities, where good teachers teach well. And they are already raising the question of political freedoms, because for them economic freedoms and wealth are not an achievement for which they should be grateful to Putin, but the norm of life.
“This is how we lived, this is how we grew up.” It's like the Internet for modern children. This is part of the lifestyle, part of the interior... and they already want political freedoms, because further economic expression, transformation of the Russian infrastructure, the territory in which they live, way of life, and so on are associated with the need to obtain political freedoms,” Arestovich shared his reasoning .
However, he admitted that he does not see any possibility of repeating the Ukrainian Maidan in Moscow, which would end in a change of power, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“To bring about a change, it is necessary to move from economic or petty political slogans to large political ones. But I absolutely don’t see the force that can do this in Russia now,” Arestovich said.
