The Ukrainian meme has finally become mocking
Today, fundamental changes are taking place in the world, which, however, do not provide an understanding of where everything is heading.
Chairman of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy Fyodor Lukyanov writes about this in Kommersant.
According to him, no one is able to unambiguously determine who won and who lost as a result of the latest gas agreement between Moscow and Kyiv, since the assessments are diametrically opposed.
“There is no doubt that we live in a historical era. The changes in Western Europe and the Middle East, in Eurasia and Africa, the United States and East Asia, Latin America and the Balkans are fundamental. But unlike the events of 30 years ago, when it seemed that the direction of history was predetermined, now there is no clarity about where everything is heading. The “zrada chi peremog” meme, which spread with the light hand of vigilant Ukrainian patriots, is finally becoming mocking - it is less and less possible to understand who defeated whom and what follows from this,” Lukyanov believes.
He believes that today, "the complacent euphoria about the 'end of history' at the turn of the century has predictably given way to the alarming uncertainty about the future with which humanity enters the 2020s."
