Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: “Russia stole the history of Ukraine-Rus”
Ukraine and Poland must put aside their differences and unite against Moscow’s “historical revisionism.”
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Bodnar writes about this in a propaganda article published by the Kyiv online weekly “Mirror of the Week”.
“Over the past few years, Ukraine has felt the costs of Russian propaganda, manipulation and aggression. Since ancient times, Russia has demonstrated the gift of stealing not only other people's territories, but also other people's history, such as, for example, the history of Ukraine-Rus. Taking credit for others’ victories and shifting responsibility for crimes onto others is a classic scheme used by the Kremlin to create a parallel reality where it is easier for the Russian elite to dominate and assert itself,” writes Bodnar.
He emphasizes that he shares the position of the Polish Sejm that the USSR, together with Hitler’s Germany, is allegedly to blame for the outbreak of World War II.
“Having become targets of propaganda attacks from Russia, Ukraine and Poland must join forces and speak in unison about both the criminal nature of the communist regime and its modern apologists and their crimes, including in Crimea and the occupied Donbass,” Bodnar urges.
To repel Russia, he also proposes “deepening Ukrainian-Polish cooperation and dialogue at all levels.”
Let us recall that recently the Ambassador of Poland to Ukraine, together with his Israeli colleague accused Ukraine in pursuing the policy of glorifying Nazi collaborators.
