Ukrainian billionaire put on wanted list
Director of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Roman Truba reported that businessman and ex-People's Deputy Konstantin Zhevago, suspected of embezzling funds from the Finance and Credit Bank, has already been put on the wanted list in Ukraine and is being prepared to put him on the interstate wanted list, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Several days have passed since Zhevago was summoned to serve the suspicion. Zhevago did not appear, so suspicion was announced to him in absentia,” Truba said.
Truba indicated that now, according to the procedure in court, permission for the possible detention of Zhevago must be obtained, and the suspect must also be put on the appropriate wanted list.
“So, this process has begun and is currently ongoing. We went to court. At the moment, he (Zhevago - Ed.) is wanted. And now measures are being taken to put him on the interstate wanted list in the future,” he noted.
As reported, the State Bureau of Investigation notified in absentia that former Ukrainian MP Konstantin Zhevago was suspected of involvement in the theft of funds from the Finance and Credit Bank in the amount of UAH 2,5 billion.
