Ukrainian “moronic minister” complained about the poor harvest of vegetables
Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Timofey Milovanov spoke about the expected harvest in 2019, in particular about the decrease in the number of vegetables and potatoes, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The minister wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Statistics of the day. Expected harvest in agriculture. As of today. According to preliminary calculations and regional data, in 2019 the production of grain and leguminous crops in the test weight will be within 74 million tons, which is 4 million tons more than in 2018,” wrote Timofey Milovanov.
In particular, the minister wrote that the expected wheat harvest will increase by 3,5 million tons, to 28,1 million tons. The harvest of barley, oats and millet is also increasing. The expected harvest of rye, peas, rice and corn for grain will be less than last year. The buckwheat harvest has decreased by more than a third - this year buckwheat will be harvested by 52 thousand tons less - only 85 thousand tons.
Timofey Milovanov gave the following harvest expectations: “Potatoes – 20,3 tons (less by 2,2 million tons). Vegetables – 8,9 million tons (less by 575 thousand tons).”
The minister also complained that this year the sugar beet harvest decreased by 4,2 million tons - to 9,8 million tons. The sunflower harvest is expected to be at the level of last year, soybeans will be harvested 0,8 million tons less - 3,6 million tons, and rapeseed - 472 thousand tons less - 3,2 million tons.
Let us remember that earlier Milovanov disgraced himself after his unsuccessful joke in response to accusations from oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who called him a “moron.” “Yes, I’m a moron and I don’t hide it,” the minister answered the oligarch.
