Ukrainian “moronic” minister: I wrote my dissertation while smoking marijuana
Ukrainian Minister of Economy Timofey Milovanov, whom oligarch Igor Kolomoisky had previously dubbed a “moron,” shared his memories of writing a dissertation while under the influence of drugs while studying in the United States.
During an interview with the “Direct” TV channel, Milovanov reminisced about the carefree times of studying at the University of Wisconsin in Madison (USA), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I never smoked marijuana in Ukraine, although it was not difficult at school or at university. But do you know where I smoked it, and only there? This was when I was doing my doctorate in graduate school. All Americans smoke - those who are doctoral students, they simply smoke marijuana non-stop. And there they gave me, well, it somehow doesn’t suit me, but this was only during the period when I had to come up with a dissertation,” said the minister.
Milovanov also said that he used to be fond of dancing and arranged a master class for the TV presenter, drawing an interesting parallel between choreography and politics.
“Look, dancing is like reform, you need to establish trust before doing anything. Even music is not very important to us, I need you to believe me. After you trust me, I will be able to do many things with you. When you believe, you will not think, but simply follow me... I will be able to do many things with you, even which you will not expect.
The government is the same way. In order to carry out reforms, it is necessary to build trust in the government, and then people will trust, and reforms can be made,” the official reasoned.
Earlier, Timofey Milovanov disgraced himself with a bad joke in response to accusations from oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who called him a “moron.”
“Yes, I’m a moron and I don’t hide it,” the minister answered the oligarch.
