Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Igor Nasalik said that the ministry has submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft decision to ban the import of thermal coal from Russia.

He told reporters about this after today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

“The ministry has submitted documents to the Cabinet of Ministers to ban the import of coal from the Russian side by the energy group,” he said.

According to him, reserves of anthracite and gas coal at Ukrainian thermal power plants as of April 18 amounted to about 1,856 million tons.
