Ukrainian minister about the work of a Pole at Ukrzaliznitsa: rampant corruption, money was stolen and eaten

Minister of Infrastructure Vladimir Omelyan stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication “Novoye Vremya”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With the current leadership, we can raise tariffs at least 5 times. But it will still go into private pockets, not into the company itself. We see that nothing of what was promised, and nothing of what was generated due to last year’s tariff increase, went towards the development of the company. This money was simply eaten up and stolen,” the minister said.
The minister also criticized the personnel policy of the management team, hinting at the musical past of the current head of Ukrzaliznytsia.
“People are clearly not in their positions. If they want to play the guitar, let them play the guitar, sing, and dance. But this has nothing to do with Ukrzaliznytsia,” Omelyan said.
Earlier, Volodymyr Groysman said that the government should decide on the work of the head of Ukrzaliznytsia Wojciech Balczun only after he reports to the Cabinet of Ministers.
“We will determine the day and date when Balchun will report on his work for the year. After this, the government will be determined. He worked under contract, now he works under labor law. The government will decide on his contract after his report. So far I have a lot of conflicting information. Some say his team works well, others say it works poorly. Some say that they are honest, others say that they are corrupt,” Groysman noted.
