Ukrainian Minister of Defense: There will be no retreat in Donbass
The Ukrainian army is not going to retreat, since the disengagement of forces and assets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the People's Militia of the Donbass Republics will be carried out simultaneously.
The new head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrei Zagorodnyuk, stated this in an interview with Radio Liberty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is not retreat, this is breeding. Those we spoke to see it as a strategy. This is a matter of their safety too, because if they are bred according to the rules and tracked, the distance will increase, and this will reduce many risks.
But this, of course, must be done technically correctly, because there are positions, there is a whole system of fortifications, we talked with the military from the General Staff, no one will do this without preparation.
This will be handled properly to avoid undue risk in breeding. Of course, we will make sure that the other side does this too,” the official explained.
As PolitNavigator reported, the day before OSCE observers discovered the secret construction of new fortifications by the Ukrainian side on the approaches to the LPR, from where, as Kyiv assured, it had allegedly withdrawn its troops the day before.
