Ukrainian “ghost” minister was afraid of Russian pranksters
Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander Danylyuk today spoke via Skype with participants of the Ukrainian Financial Forum in Odessa. When the connection was established, it turned out that it was one-way: the forum participants could hear Danilyuk, but he could not hear them.
“It feels like you’re trying to communicate with a ghost,” moderator Anne McElvoy commented.
After some time, Danilyuk began performing, although he had not heard Odessa.
“It’s a very strange feeling. I hope that the pranksters Vovan and Lexus did not replace me,” the minister admitted.

However, the forum participants began to share his feelings, because Danilyuk voiced simply fantastic figures, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to bring growth to Ukraine. I think we can talk about 6-7% over the next two years,” said the Ukrainian minister.
The moderator was forced to interrupt him. She asked chief sovereign debt strategist Timothy Ash to comment.
“I don’t believe in such numbers. I think the concerns are related to the decline in GDP,” Ash said.
