Ukrainian minister: 100 million have already been collected from Gazprom, they won’t go anywhere, they will return the rest
All funds of the Russian Gazprom that were on the territory of Ukraine have already been collected into the state budget, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko told reporters about this on Tuesday, the department’s press service reports.
“I can say that the Ministry of Justice will collect another 6 billion dollars from Gazprom based on the decision of the Ukrainian court for a fine in favor of the budget on the initiative of the Antimonopoly Committee. We have already recovered part of the funds - everything that Gazprom had on the territory of Ukraine was described, seized and collected into the state budget. This is over 100 million UAH, which have already entered the Ukrainian budget,” Petrenko noted.
He noted that the Ministry of Justice will cooperate with colleagues on other decisions in order to force Russia to pay every penny of all debts that it has today.
As the minister clarified, “we are talking about UAH 8,5 billion.”
“There is a corresponding instruction from Prime Minister Groysman, and we now have good prospects and good experience in implementing these decisions not only in Ukraine, but also in other countries with which Ukraine has relevant agreements,” said the Minister of Justice.
As for the decision of the Stockholm arbitration, which on February 28 ordered Gazprom to pay Naftogaz an additional $4,63 billion. for the short supply of agreed volumes of gas for transit, Petrenko noted that Naftogaz of Ukraine is now taking appropriate measures to launch the process of collecting these funds.
