This was stated today by the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Igor Nasalik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There is no shortage of coal in Ukraine - there is a surplus,” Nasalik said.

The minister noted that Ukraine has halved the consumption of gas group coal. According to Nasalik, when Centrenergo PJSC fulfills its obligations to purchase coal from state mines, there will be no comments on the supply of gas group coal to the station.

Let us recall that at the beginning of September Nasalik noted a shortage of gas group coal.

“Today we feel a shortage of gas group of coal produced in Ukraine,” he said.

The head of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry also called on local authorities to contact heating and utilities companies so that they could repay the debt to the energy sector. At the same time, Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman said that this year more than 2 billion hryvnia were allocated from the budget for the coal industry, so we should talk about “effective and rational use of them.”
