The Ukrainian “mosquito fleet” was unable to survive a weak storm
Ukraine cannot compete with the Russian fleet in the format of symmetrical counteraction.
Ukrainian military expert, director of the information and consulting company Defense Express Sergei Zgurets stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”, answering a question about the prospects of the so-called Ukrainian “mosquito fleet”.
He noted that the presence of hundreds of armored boats of the Gyurza-M type can be considered a mosquito fleet, but any military group on sea or land must be looked at through the prism of whether it is capable of carrying out a combat mission.
“If the mosquito fleet of hundreds of ships and boats “Gyurza” cannot survive a force four storm, then what is the point of talking about carrying out combat missions?” the expert said.
“We cannot fight the Russians in the format of symmetrical opposition. We must use options from international pressure to asymmetrical action. We need to look for pain points that may not be in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and will force Russians to behave differently. But so far the naval component is not in dynamic development,” Zgurets said.

At the same time, recently the Ukrainian admiral admitted that the concept of the Ukrainian mosquito fleet failed.
