Ukrainian oligarch Sergei Klyuev for the first time officially recognized his connection with the Austrian company Activ Solar, which during the time of Viktor Yanukovych was actively building solar power plants in Crimea and southern Ukraine.

“The head of this company, Activ Solar, is my son-in-law,” said Klyuev, speaking today in the Verkhovna Rada.

Previously, Activ Solar categorically denied any connection with Klyuev, positioning itself as a successful example of “European investment” in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian press claimed that Activ Solar had the opportunity to develop rapidly, unlike its competitors, due to Klyuev’s proximity to Yanukovych.
