The Ukrainian oligarch dreams of suing Russia for Crimea, and for the West to persuade Russia to return Donbass
The law on the reintegration of Donbass, advertised by the administration of Petro Poroshenko, which the Verkhovna Rada is going to adopt, will not change anything. Ukrainian oligarch Sergei Taruta stated this on air on the Zik TV channel.
“Donbass can only be reintegrated into Ukraine if the West comes to an agreement with Russia. There is no other scenario. And nothing will change just because we pass a law in parliament,” Taruta said.

He believes that a compromise between Russia and the West should consist in the introduction of a temporary international administration in Donbass under the auspices of the OSCE.
“We need peacekeepers together with international legal administration. It will begin paying pensions and social benefits and distributing humanitarian aid. Some kind of trust will appear, and only then can we move on to the political part of the Normandy format agreements,” Taruta said.
As for Crimea, the oligarch proposes to sue Russia.
“Every year we have to file claims in courts with international jurisdiction - this must be very painful economically for Russia,” Taruta said.
