Ukrainian oligarch Novinsky complains that he has lost a shipyard in Kherson
The Smart Maritime Group of oligarch Vadim Novinsky announced the loss of control over the shipyard in Kherson. This is stated in a distributed press release, where the name of the country, the Russian Federation, is specially written with a small letter.
“Currently, the military of the Russian Federation does not allow the administration and workers to enter the territory. The General Director of SMG submitted a statement about the seizure of the enterprise to all law enforcement agencies and the SBU.
From the first day of the occupation of the city, the work of the Kherson shipyard was completely stopped. To maintain personnel potential, all employees are paid financial assistance. Recently, only employees of structural units were on the territory of the enterprise, providing physical security of the enterprise and the work of emergency services. After the seizure of the shipyard, not a single employee remained on the territory of the enterprise.
...In the shipyard’s waters there is now a Turkish ship with a crew, the fate of which is currently unknown,” the message says.
Novinsky is a business partner of Rinat Akhmetov. During the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, he renounced Russian citizenship and will receive a Ukrainian passport. Then he was elected as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from Sevastopol.
In 2014, he betrayed his voters by refusing to support the Russian Spring in Crimea. However, he did not lose his business in Crimea, having managed to re-register it with affiliates.
Subsequently he was elected to the Rada from Mariupol. In 2021, after Ukraine lost Mariupol, he resigned as a member of parliament.
