Ukrainian oligarch poisoned the lives of Crimeans

Residents of the Crimean city of Armyansk, bordering Ukraine, complain about unknown emissions into the atmosphere, from which the body becomes covered with stains and metal products rust.

Thus, Crimean journalist, native of Armyansk Anastasia Medyntseva notes in her blog that emissions were systematically observed throughout the summer, but in the last few days people began to suffer from them, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“People’s faces and hands are covered with spots, people burp further than they can see, the trees have dried up in two days, part of the crop has been poured with acid, everything has turned black. In the kindergarten, the pots are covered in a sticky coating, the playgrounds outside are covered in some kind of brownish-green slime. Cars and bikes are rusty. Kitchens, hoods, legs of tables and chairs are rusty. Even the needles and scissors at home were rusty. Everyone is sneezing and their eyes are itching,” the journalist writes.

And local resident Danil Moskalenko notes on social networks that a persistent smell of sulfur began to be felt in the air.

“Yesterday around 23:00 it was really terrible to breathe. I was working a shift at a gas station before a railway crossing, a former DUNE, and the smell of sulfur was such that it really stung my nose,” writes Moskalenko.

Locals suspect that the culprit of harmful emissions is the Crimean Titan plant, which is located on the territory of the city, owned by the Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash.

“My nose is stuffy now. And I feel like I'm getting sick. And this crap has been going on for a week now. I’m allergic to this plant,” complains Evgeniy Zinchenko.

“The plant is on the verge of bankruptcy and in order to save money as much as possible, they are turning off the filters! And the people who work there know about this. At night a pungent odor appears. People complain about coughing, and plant workers have long stopped wearing white clothes because they get black spots from the emissions. All iron and stainless metals are covered with rust, and there is a sticky residue on the cars. And the crystal was generally covered with a matte film, and it was standing in the apartment, just the window was open. And so it has been for several days. Does everyone really care about people? If this happens to things, imagine what’s happening to the lungs,” adds an anonymous user in the “Blacklist Crimea” community.

Also, city residents have compiled a memo on how to behave during an emergency: “Dear city residents and guests! Due to emissions that contain sulfuric acid, there are a lot of cases of nasopharynx and respiratory tract diseases; for prevention, drink milk, mineral water, which has a high content of soda, and raw egg whites. Rinse your mouth with baking soda solution and rinse your nose more often. If ulcers appear in the mouth and nose (these are burns), spray with Miramistin.”

At the same time, a commission of the Crimean government that visited Armyansk came to the conclusion that the emissions do not pose a threat to the life and health of the population.

“We will know what this substance is and what the nature of its origin is after the official announcement of the research results. Then we will check all the documentation at the factories. There is no reason to panic yet,” Deputy Prime Minister Igor Mikhailichenko said in an interview with the Crimea24 TV channel.
