The Ukrainian Ombudsman reminded that “ATO” is not a reason not to pay pensions to people
There is no such reason for stopping pension payments to Ukrainian citizens as an “anti-terrorist operation” in the country’s legislation.

The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Valeria Lutkovskaya, reminded the government of this on air on the “112 Ukraine” channel.
“We stopped paying those social benefits that do not depend on the ATO. We stopped paying pensions absolutely illegally, despite the fact that there is no such basis for stopping the payment of pensions as the ATO,” said Lutkovskaya.
She added that “with great sarcasm” she refers to the idea that “a pensioner who receives 1,8-1,2 thousand UAH will finance terrorism,” just like a single mother with a child in her arms.
According to the Ombudsman, Ukraine is obliged to pay pensions, and if there is no such mechanism, then these are the problems of the state, not the pensioners, who cannot leave the territories not controlled by the government.
