Ukrainian oppositionist: this is not an operetta; on August 24, a “parade of winners” took place in Kyiv
The Independence Day parade in Kyiv demonstrated the creation of an "arc of tension" along Russia's western border.

The leader of the Ukrainian party “Union of Left Forces” Vasily Volga said this on air on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Despite all the operetta-ness of what was happening, despite the fact that the Ukrainian generals were searched by American bodyguards, despite the fact that these banner groups that walked there were funny, it was a parade of winners. The goal they set, in my opinion, has been achieved. The countries that make up the arc of confrontation were presented: the Baltic countries, Poland, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, which joined them, and some kind of demonstration from Turkey. This is not an operetta. The arc of confrontation has been built, and they are showing it to us,” Volga said.
He believes that the West intervened every time and provoked Maidans when Ukraine tried to become part of a single space connecting Russia and Europe.
“There is an attraction, not yet at a very public level, between Germany and Russia towards creating a single space of security and cooperation from the Atlantic to the Kuril Islands. This is possible with Ukraine in the center. But everything is directed against this,” Volga said.
