Ukrainian writer: The war must continue in the foreign Donbass so that it does not exist in our Kyiv or Lvov
Kyiv, January 21 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Donbass is a foreign land for Ukraine, but it is necessary to fight there in order to prevent the enemy from entering its territory.
This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian writer Vasily Shklyar in an interview with the Kraina weekly.

“There are lines where you need to stand,” the writer explained the need to hold on to Donbass. – The guys who are fighting frankly say: this is a foreign land, but it is better to fight for your country on foreign land than in your own country in Lvov or Kiev. This conflict may be frozen. However, one should not take this to heart. Let them live as they want. Let them even hold a referendum. Let them disconnect. Georgia has carried out successful reforms. Would they have existed if Abkhazia and Ossetia had not seceded? In Moldova, the referendum supported the European choice. And if we had voted together with Transnistria, there would have been no such choice.”
In addition, the Ukrainian writer calls not to believe in peace initiatives coming from Moscow.
“One hero from Marusya says: fear the Muscovite most of all when he declares a truce,” Vasily Shklyar refers to his latest novel. – I could say that all this is stupid, our guys are dying anyway, so let’s fight according to-present. But the one who makes such calls must be the first to go to war.”
