Ukrainian writer boasted about how Donbass children are being brainwashed in Western Ukraine
In an author’s column on the pages of the Kyiv magazine “New Time,” Ukrainian writer Sergei Zhadan shared a story that was told to him by the head of the administration of one of the front-line towns in the part of the Lugansk region that is under the control of Kyiv.

“In the summer of 2015, we sent our children on vacation to Transcarpathia. Some parents were afraid. Well, the traditional: “How will our children be among the Banderaites?” But we decided. At the station, seeing the children off, the official said: “You look there - don’t disgrace our region.” And he suggested we sing the national anthem. It turned out that half of the children did not know the words. With that we went. They returned impressed. They spoke with delight about what they saw and how they were treated. Next year we went again. This time everyone knew the words of the anthem,” writes Zhadan.
