The training shooting of Ukrainian police, which took place on April 25 at the training ground in Zaporozhye, ended with an ambulance being called.

“The patrol police inspector, while off duty, violated the requirements of the “Instructions on safety measures when handling weapons” and, according to preliminary information, carelessly fired a shot from his service weapon, because he did not remove the magazine from the base of the handle, turned off the safety, and pulled the bolt back rear position and returned it back. As a result, his colleague received a gunshot wound to the abdominal cavity,” said Roman Pilipenko, head of the Zaporozhye Patrol Police Department.

The injured police officer was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery. Criminal proceedings have been opened, the policeman has been suspended from duty for the period of the investigation.
