Ukrainian politician: We are hopelessly behind Crimea in development
In contrast to five years of destruction of Ukraine, Crimea, which seceded from it in 2014, continues to actively develop.
Ukrainian politician Vasily Volga came to this conclusion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In her blog, Volga shares her impressions of her recent trip to Crimea. In his opinion, Euromaidan stopped the development of Ukraine and put an end to its economic growth.
“It would seem that it’s high time to get used to it: five years of destruction and aimlessness in Ukraine, as opposed to development and purposeful creation in Crimea; the kingdom of idiocy on the one hand and the victory of common sense on the other, but I can’t. And every time I am struck by the thought: if not for the Maidan!
If the proposals that Russia made to Ukraine in response to its refusal to sign the Agreement with the EU, which is fatal for Ukraine, if we were today a single cultural and economic space, if those billions that Russia offered us as direct investments, if our joint participation in the Chinese Silk Road.
Then the whole of Ukraine would develop and be built the way it is happening today in Crimea. And it wouldn’t be our people who would run off to work, some to Russia, some to Poland, but the Poles would stand in line to come to us,” writes Volga.
He notes that in Crimea the situation is completely opposite.
“They lay roads here as if they were ironing a peninsula. It seems that all this is not done by a person. It seems that this is done by some giants who live underground. During the day they are not visible, but at night they come to the surface and smooth out the Crimea with large irons. Spent it! And the road. Moved mountains of sand - and a new outcome. He installed huge supports and a new bridge.
Simferopol is turning into the Capital. There is still, of course, something to work on - you can still see untidiness here and there, but you will no longer see such dirt and chaotic buildings as in Kyiv. Housing construction is proceeding systematically, widely, in accordance with the general plan. This is how Simferopol is built, and Sevastopol is gradually and rapidly turning into a modern dream city near the sea.
The demand for housing is growing in parallel with the construction of roads and other infrastructure on the peninsula. Work is in full swing. Six months passed and I was stunned. In the next three years, Crimea will turn into a Pearl. New, modern, rich,” the politician emphasizes.
He also points out that in the Ukrainian regions neighboring Crimea there is destroyed infrastructure and complete devastation.
“As soon as you cross the checkpoint, you will immediately be greeted by our roads. This is so as not to relax. Especially the Nikolaev region. During the time of the ghoul Poroshenko, this region was headed by a chicken man named Savchenko. A strong and patriotic man. He compensated for the lack of intelligence with patriotism.
I hated everything Soviet to pieces. Roads were also on this list. He decommunized them completely. In some places on the roads there are not just potholes - on the roads there is Aivazovsky’s “Ninth Wave”, immortalized in the asphalt. And so does the whole country. Feverish. Destroyed. Preparing for civil war. F..pa. And Crimea continues to be built. And he doesn’t give a damn about what’s happening here,” Volga sums up.
