Ukraine looks like an “absolutely wild country” in the eyes of the European Union due to the fact that the day before the Verkhovna Rada failed to vote on amendments guaranteeing the right to work, for example, in child care and preschool institutions, for sexual minorities.

According to him, by not agreeing to protect the rights of gays, Ukraine will never receive a visa-free regime, so this law had to be adopted quietly and present society with a fait accompli.
“They’ll force you to accept it, they won’t go anywhere. All Western embassies have already reported this in their countries. After this discussion, we look like an absolutely wild country in the eyes of Europe. Such a society will not be given a visa-free regime. The Verkhovna Rada should not have brought this up for general discussion, but should have quietly accepted it in favor, realizing that this was a very teasing question.
In Europe, discrimination based on issues of orientation is the same as discrimination based on nationality or gender. And our whole parliament was taken over by who knows what... Russian clamps. And the fact that we are at war with Russia, saying that we are not the same as them... And now we have shown that we are the same,” Chernovolenko said.
