Ukrainian politician helped Gazprom with the promotion of Nord Stream 2
The recent statement by Deputy Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Yuriy Grymchak that Ukraine was considering the possibility of destroying the gas transportation system in order to interrupt Russian gas supplies to the EU played in favor of Russia, which has long convinced Europe of the unreliability of transit through Ukrainian territory.

This is what Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko thinks, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“When Grymchak says this, he thereby shows that we are an unstable transit country. Our problems with Russia could turn into European problems at any moment. This is what Russia is telling Europe: “let’s quickly build these bypass gas pipelines, and everything will be OK. because Ukraine is a territory of chaos, there are a lot of problems there,” Romanenko writes in his blog.
According to him, Ukraine is thus exposing not only itself, but also those Western partners who protect it.
“Why can’t you just remain silent? Say nothing at all on this topic? Yes, perhaps there were such plans. Objectively, they probably were, because we were in a dangerous situation, and we needed to somehow put pressure on Russia. Why was this made public? We see how the Russian media immediately picks up all this,” Romanenko laments.
