A Ukrainian politician on state TV called the people of Iran “monkeys”
Russia is responsible for the crash of a Ukrainian Boeing near Tehran airport, as Moscow sold air defense systems to the Iranian military, which can be compared to “weaponizing monkeys.”
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Kovtunenko said this on January 13 on the talk show “60 Minutes” on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Ukrainian expert insulted the Iranians by allowing himself to compare them to animals, while rejecting US blame for the escalation in the Middle East, which, as we know, led to the tragic launch of a missile at an airliner.
“What does the USA have to do with it? You gave them this baton, Russia sold it in 2017. You taught these monkeys to shoot. We will punish them again!” - Kovtunenko shouted.
Alexander Kovtunenko, who regularly appears on Russian television as a Ukrainian expert, is known for his nationalist views.
Since 2006, he was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, but then moved to the headquarters of Viktor Yanukovych, where for some time he even served as his adviser.
Then, from the fall of 2007 to the winter of 2008, he served as vice president of Energoatom, the company that manages Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
