Ukrainian political scientist: If the LPR and DPR are not defeated by the fall, the war will last for a long time
Kyiv, July 25 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – If the Ukrainian army does not manage to defeat the pro-Russian rebels from the DPR and LPR before the onset of autumn cold, the war in Donbass will drag on for a long time.
Political scientist Vitaly Bala announced this at a press conference in Kyiv.

“If we do not resolve the Donbass issue in the fall, then I am afraid that this situation will drag on for many years. The destabilization of the situation in Donbass will continue,” he says.
In the event of a protracted military conflict, one cannot count on normal economic development. Therefore, in such a situation, the parliamentary crisis has seriously worsened the situation in Ukraine, which Russia will not take advantage of, Bala fears.
“What we call “terrorism” is funny, in fact, we understand perfectly well that there is a war going on. The President should have come out a long time ago, addressed the citizens and said that this is a war, and we will defend our territory and our independence to the last citizen and patron. This would be a signal to Russia and the international community, and after that we could move on,” says the political scientist.
“Now we find ourselves in a situation where power, instead of being consolidated, is becoming unbalanced. We are witnesses to when we can have an illegitimate government, which will not allow us to work in the international arena. We will immediately have problems with financial institutions. Our parliament, from the moment the coalition ceases to exist, will begin to become a swamp that can be neglected.
In this situation, the main task that the authorities must solve is the issues of economics and peace in Donbass. This is very “sagging” for us now. We need to clearly understand that we are already experiencing instability in the country,” says Vitaly Bala.
