Ukrainian political scientist Karasev named the date of recognition of the LDPR by Russia
President Vladimir Putin may recognize the independence of the Donbass republics during the presidential election campaign at the end of 2017 - beginning of 2018. Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel.

“During the elections, Putin will need to demonstrate some steps on the Donbass issue. This is a painful issue for those Russians who believe that the Russian world is all that needs to be acted decisively. Therefore, at the end of 2017 - beginning of 2018, we need to wait for radical decisions from Russia. I think this will be recognition of the independent so-called LPR and DPR,” Karasev said.
The political scientist argues that such a step by the Russian president will suit Ukraine completely, since it will free Kyiv’s hands and free it from the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
For some reason, Karasev did not consider the option that by that time all participants in the Normandy format could admit that the Minsk agreements were disrupted precisely because of Ukraine, and not the Russian Federation.
