Ukrainian political scientist: Kyiv will not be able to take revenge on Hungary
Harsh statements from Ukraine regarding the long-term contract concluded by Hungary with Gazprom are another scandalous PR campaign by Kyiv without real consequences for Hungary.
Ukrainian political scientist Alexander Bulavin stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Ukraine cannot cause any damage to Hungary. All statements by the Ukrainian side are simply a propaganda campaign. The world has already become accustomed to this behavior of Ukraine; everyone is accustomed to the fact that Ukraine makes scandals.
On the one hand, Ukraine’s anger is quite understandable, and even partly legitimate in the sense that Ukraine considers itself almost a European country. And therefore she is trying to appeal to certain European practices, saying that it is necessary to coordinate agreements, it is necessary to maintain a single political line, etc. How is it that Hungary has gone beyond the framework of agreements that exist within the EU? Well, and so on and so forth.
But what the Ukrainian side is now saying is another PR project. In principle, all this was expected. But there will be no profit from this. The Hungarian leadership, for its part, will also limit itself to some harsh statements. This is where it all ends,” said the political scientist.
