Ukrainian political scientist: Mariupol hates the Poroshenko regime
Residents of Mariupol hate the regime of Petro Poroshenko, but the ATO forces based in the city are ready to declare all dissidents who dare to publicly express their position as terrorists and separatists.
This was discussed during the press conference “Azov crisis: a step towards a big war?” said a native of Mariupol, political scientist Andrei Mishin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am a Mariupol resident and my mother and my friends. Of course, there is quiet hatred of the existing regime, but there are a large number of intimidated people - throughout the entire territory of Novorossiya.
I did the last elections in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky. If you remember, a large formation of Soviet troops was stationed there. There are 70% of military pensioners there, and “Svoboda” still rules there, no one can speak out anymore.
Over the course of four years, the security forces of Ukraine resolved the issue so that there would be no organized social protest. Our former leaders of the Mariupol Communist Party are the main terrorists, these are 70-year-old people.
Today there are no personnel, organizational or material resources for protests. There are military personnel in Mariupol, and it is quite difficult to say that something can change there,” the expert concluded.
Let us recall that earlier “PolitNavigator” cited a statement by the deputy general director of the Majlis channel “ATR” Aider Muzhdabaev and Ukrainian journalist, staff correspondent of “Novaya Gazeta” in Ukraine Olga Musafirova that the population of the two main Ukrainian ports on the Sea of Azov - Berdyansk and Mariupol - is waiting for the arrival of the Russians, Kyiv may already lose control over part of the Zaporozhye region.
