Ukrainian political scientist: Rewriting history by the Verkhovna Rada is harmonization with EU standards
Kyiv, April 13 (PolitNavigator, Masha Vysotskaya) – Today the Nazis won in Ukraine, and the anti-communist laws adopted by the Rada are a direct instruction from Europe.
Speaking on the talk show “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” the director of the Ukrainian Center for Research of Social Processes “Expert” Vyacheslav Kovtun made a number of scandalous statements.
In particular, he stated that the laws recently adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the rehabilitation of Nazi collaborators and the ban on communist symbols are a direct consequence of the Association Agreement signed by Ukraine with the EU. And the abolition of the term Great Patriotic War and the Victory Banner is a tribute to those who won the political struggle in Ukraine.

“I would like to remind you that the basic law by which Ukraine lives is the Association Agreement with the European Union, which provides for the complete harmonization of Ukrainian legislation in accordance with European standards,” says Kovtun. – And the laws adopted recently are catch-up decisions that do not have a decisive influence on the vector of the country’s development. This is a tribute to those who won.
A year ago, the Revolution of Dignity took place, and the political forces that led it proclaimed certain goals. Nothing has been done in a year. Corrupt officials were not punished, there was no real progress in the fight against the oligarchs. Including decommunization and de-Sovietization, carried out in the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe, were not carried out. We in Ukraine believe that without this it is impossible to move towards Europe.” – the Ukrainian expert summarizes.
In response to these scandalous statements by the Ukrainian expert, the host of the program, Vladimir Solovyov, made a remark that what was said looks like an admission that today’s Ukraine is deprived of real sovereignty, since it does not live according to its own Constitution, but according to the Association Agreement with the EU. And the words of a Ukrainian expert that laws aimed at rewriting history are “a tribute to those who won” mean an admission that the Nazis have won in Ukraine today.
