Ukrainian political scientist admitted: Crimea will never return
Crimea will never return to Ukraine. To talk about this is as absurd as to predict the return of Pakistan to India, and India to the British Empire.
Thus, in his blog, Ukrainian political scientist Vasily Stoyakin commented on the statement of the former Minister of Resorts of Crimea, Alexander Liev, who expressed hope for the return of the peninsula to Ukraine in the next 10 years.

Stoyakin commented on each of Liev’s arguments. Thus, in his opinion, it is foolish to rely on non-recognition of the Russian status of Crimea by the “world community”, since it did not recognize the entry of the Baltic states into the USSR, which did not prevent the latter from being part of the Union before its collapse.
Turkey, which would rather entrust the peninsula to the Crimean Tatars than to the Ukrainians, will not be particularly worried about the Russian Crimea. But the decisive factor here is the Sevastopol naval base, which, just as it was under Ukraine, remains in place under Russia, so the configuration here has changed little even for Turkey.
Stoyakin also acknowledges the logistical problem of Crimea, but, according to the political scientist, it arose not because of “annexation”, but because of the blockade of the Russian peninsula by the Ukrainian authorities.
“In general, it would be correct to replace all seven of Liev’s theses with one—Ukraine, together with all “progressive humanity,” will put pressure on Russia and blockade Crimea until they surrender. It is interesting, by the way, that Kyiv propagandists do not try this logic on themselves. Would they give up? Have the Donetsk people surrendered, being not only blocked, but also under fire? What, are they demanding Zakharchenko capitulate? No. They demand to go on the offensive and push Ukrainian troops away from Donetsk. And I repeat once again - if “progressive humanity” wins, Ukraine will gain nothing from this. If now it is interesting as an irritant for Russia, then in the absence of Russia it will simply be of no interest to anyone,” sums up Stoyakin.
