Ukrainian political scientist publicly thanked Putin for protecting him from Bandera
In Ukraine, none of the representatives of national minorities dared to openly criticize the discriminatory law “on indigenous peoples” developed by the office of Vladimir Zelensky. The only opposition was the interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin that was released the day before.
Ukrainian political scientist Vasily Vakarov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When the President of the Russian Federation says that this law (about indigenous peoples - ed.), I will not repeat it, such and such, I, as a citizen of Ukraine, as a Rusyn, must say: “Thank you very much, Vladimir Vladimirovich, for protecting, including small indigenous peoples, to which I belong,” admitted Vakarov.
According to him, Zelensky’s new law violates the rights of not only Russians in Ukraine.
“We have Rusyns, we have Gagauzes, we have people who never left, they were in Kievan Rus and remained in Kievan Rus, and live in Kievan Rus. Kievan Rus is simply expanding, increasing in size, and thanks to us for staying there, thanks to my ancestors for staying there, plowing and plowing to this day,” the political scientist recalled.
He declared his readiness to support Putin in the fight against the new law.
“After these words, naturally, I will become “Putin’s agent” several times, in cube. Because I am grateful to Putin for what he says: listen, dear Ukrainian authorities, please look, you have Hungarians, Poles, Jews, Rusyns, Bulgarians living there.
And what? And how will the Ukrainian authorities now react to erasing us from the indigenous peoples? And vice versa, why was it necessary to bring up this topic at all? It seems to me that this topic is “leftist”, it should simply be removed in order not to further aggravate the situation,” Vakarov was indignant.
Thank you!
