Ukrainian political scientist: Putin is going to the USA to persuade Obama to leave Crimea alone and make Transnistria out of Donbass

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his visit to the United States, where he plans to take part in the UN General Assembly, will allegedly seek to reach agreements with the American side, according to which Crimea will remain Russian, and the Transnistrian scenario can be implemented in Donbass.

About it writes political scientist Dmitry Tupchienko in an article for the Ukrainian website “Apostrophe”.

According to him, the probable version of the American-Russian agreements, which, in particular, was allegedly discussed during the visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Sochi several months ago, is as follows: “Perhaps, in resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Crimea is taken out of the brackets (that is, de -in fact, remains Russian according to the type of Northern Cyprus, with reservations), and the status of Donetsk and Lugansk will be quietly brought to a state similar to Transnistria.”

According to Tupchienko, agreements to exit the conflict could be beneficial for a number of American oil companies that suffer from sanctions against the Russian Federation.

“By the way, at the same time the issue of who will produce shale gas at the Yuzovskaya site will be resolved. And now, after the Iran deal, Barack Obama will not be able to take a tough stance against Moscow in Ukraine, because he needs support on the Syrian front. In exchange, Russia is required to agree to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. It is for this purpose that Putin is flying to the 70th meeting of the UN General Assembly, which will open on September 15,” the Ukrainian expert is sure.
