A Ukrainian political scientist in Crimea complained that he was sick of Bandera
Most Ukrainians do not accept the renaming of streets in honor of Nazi collaborators Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych, but the ruling nationalist regime is pushing for the glorification of new heroes.
This was stated by Ukrainian military expert Alexander Manachinsky at a conference in Yalta dedicated to the resumption of expert dialogue between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, about 80% of Galicians are in the Verkhovna Rada and they dictate their terms. I can’t walk along Bandera or Shukhevych streets, because my mother was captured by Shukhevych’s militants, and there are many of us like that,” said the guest from Ukraine.
Manachinsky hopes that such conferences will help the resistance in Ukraine.
“We don't accept this. We must build our relationships in such a way that this small spark that is now glowing among the people does not go out. Therefore, such conferences and various types of relationships allow us to at least somehow advance certain developments forward. Let’s hope we don’t stop there,” he added.
The conference in Yalta was organized by the Gorchakov Foundation for the Support of Public Diplomacy, the Institute of Peacekeeping Initiatives, and the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee.
