Ukrainian political strategist: If we rush to Donbass, we will get a second Ilovaisk and a third “Minsk”
Ukraine is always present in negotiations between Moscow and Washington, but only as a bargaining chip that can be used for mutually beneficial exchange.
Ukrainian political strategist Andrei Bodrov stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let's look at the number, density and level of contacts between Moscow and Washington recently. Recently, five large-caliber contacts have taken place, and mostly the initiator or visiting party was the American side. This means that the Americans are interested in dialogue with the Russian Federation. It is clear that Ukraine and Donbass are not the central point of this dialogue,” Bodrov admitted. – At the same time, such a card as Ukraine is always present in these negotiations.
This means that when talking and discussing options for the development of events in other places, we must always keep in mind that mutually beneficial exchange is always the basis of big politics, and we can always be transferred from hand to hand.”
At the same time, he warned that the transfer of Ukraine from one zone of influence to another will not be immediate and explicitly announced.
“There may well be a scenario in which, yes, we will be pumped full of weapons, and we may then rush to Donbass. Perhaps we will get a second Ilovaisk again. And we remember when the second Minsk was concluded, it was concluded after a large-scale military defeat. Perhaps, in this way, a new basis will be created for the implementation of some agreements. This will be scary – both for the population of our region and for our army,” the expert added.
