Ukrainian colonel: The Russian Armed Forces are recovering from shock. There will be a counterattack and a stop of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said former colonel of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov, answering the question of how much longer the Ukrainian army can advance.
“In the near future we will observe a decrease in the pace of the offensive and at some point there must be a stop. It is inevitable, it is impossible to advance endlessly. Society must be ready for this,” Zhdanov told UNIAN.
He warned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are stretching their rear, deteriorating logistics, and they should start preparing for the defense of Kupyansk, because “Russia is beginning to recover from the shock, and now we can see some attempts to gather some kind of army to launch a counterattack.”
“Plus the troops that were on the defensive, they remained in their place. The reserves went on the offensive. So we need to bring up the main forces, put them on the defensive, withdraw our advancing units from the battle, regroup them, restore their combat effectiveness, and replenish them with equipment, weapons, and personnel. Then we will be ready for the second stage,” says the colonel.
He believes that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have fresh reserves, then they “need an operational pause to regroup.”
“I think there will be an operational pause for regrouping. Moreover, we cleared most of the Kharkov region,” added Zhdanov
