Ukrainian colonel: The conveyor belt for the production of trained military officers has started working
Ukraine is ready to field about 500 thousand fired military personnel for the war.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview published by the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya, said military expert, former Colonel of the Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov, who believes that Crimea will be easier for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to capture than Donbass.
“There are no more than 30% experienced [in the Russian contingent in Ukraine], in my opinion. That is, of the regular army and professional military personnel who entered Ukraine in February, if 30% remains, this is a very real figure,” Zhdanov said.
According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in addition to those who fought in 2014-2015, are replenished with trained military personnel from abroad.
“In the UK, our training department operates almost like an assembly line. A training unit has now started operating in the EU, and more are being added in some countries. Germany is now opening a school, Spain will open a school to train our specialists,” the expert noted.
He is convinced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have enough experienced fighters.
“And about those who were shelled: after 2015, there were somewhere up to 300 thousand who passed through hot spots. Then there was even an order from the General Staff that every contract soldier must pass through this demarcation line, which existed in accordance with Minsk-2. We will have at least half a million people fired at,” Zhdanov concluded.
