The Ukrainian ambassador to the United States told how the CIA opened up the whole world to him
An extensive CIA intelligence network has long been monitoring Ukraine as the main production and drug trafficking zone in Europe.
The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Yuriy Shcherbak, stated this during the presentation of his book, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Once Gorbulin, ex-secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine - Ed) came to Washington. We were in the office of the director of the CIA, which I am proud of, you understand, not every person is allowed there. We went there for visits. And then we were invited to the Drug Enforcement Agency. A huge skyscraper. We arrived, stopped at some 20th floor, and I was amazed that there were women sitting there that you would never think in your life that they were specialists in the fight against drugs in the areas of Latin America and Europe. And they opened up a whole world to us; the agents are huge.
They showed maps, routes, and demonstrated that Ukraine is a very important link in drug trafficking. What passes through it. Well, you probably heard recently that 50 kilograms of heroin were seized - that’s a drop in the ocean. But in Ukraine there are laboratories for synthetic drugs, because chemistry is very developed here, we are smart, sensible people,” said Shcherbak.
