The Ukrainian ambassador to Japan threatens the Russian army with “enormous damage”
The 200-strong Ukrainian army allegedly represents a formidable force for Russia.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan Sergei Korsunsky writes about this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an article published by the Kyiv online publication Zerkalo Nedeli.
He expresses concern about the large-scale transfer of Russian troops to the Ukrainian borders.
“Of course, this is very dangerous, and, of course, it is impossible to exclude renewed aggression. The question arises: are the Kremlin so blinded by hatred that they do not understand the full danger of a military attack on a country of 40 million with an army of 200, covered by a network of oil and gas pipelines, chemical plants and 15 nuclear power plants?” the diplomat fears.
However, he further writes that the Ukrainian army can provide a worthy rebuff to the Russian one.
“Whatever scenario we consider, even an attempt to simply push back the demarcation line in the East of Ukraine or “break through” a corridor to Crimea - each of these steps is fraught with huge losses and a critical increase in international pressure on Moscow. Assessments of the combat readiness of the Ukrainian army, expressed by Western experts in foreign media, are unambiguous - the damage to the Russian armed forces will be enormous,” says Korsunsky.
As PolitNavigator reported, the editor-in-chief of the Censor resource, promoting a punitive operation against the LDPR, said that Russia, despite the announced withdrawal of troops, transfers to the borders with Ukraine best units.
