Ukrainian Orthodox schism plays into the hands of Catholics
The schism in Ukrainian Orthodoxy will turn away new parishioners from the Orthodox Church and swell the ranks of the Catholic flock.
This opinion was expressed on Channel One by Russian political scientist and economist Mikhail Delyagin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a seizure of territory, but not by Filaret, but by Bartholomew. The first thing he said was that there would be a temple, which, apparently, would be taken away from the Russian Orthodox Church, and it would be an embassy.
Now let’s imagine the position of a believer who is used to praying to his church in this church, and now he will either have to be baptized into another church, or he finds himself in a dead end, and this will be the case throughout Ukraine. Ukrainian activists and Catholics really like this, including because people who now come to God will get confused in four Orthodox churches and think: “I’ll go to the Catholics, they have one church,” Delyagin explained.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that in Western Ukraine, Greek Catholics are supported by militants take away churches from the Orthodox Church.
