Ukrainian representative attacked Lugansk journalists
The representative of Ukraine at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC) attacked an LPR journalist for trying to film a report about Kiev’s delaying work on restoring the bridge in Stanitsa Luganskaya.
Ivan Filiponenko, an officer of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to his information, the Ukrainian side continues to delay restoration work on the bridge in Stanitsa Luganskaya, depicting vigorous activity in front of OSCE representatives and stopping work after their departure.
At the same time, in order to prevent the dissemination of information about the inaction of Ukrainian specialists, representatives in the JCCC from the Ukrainian side are preventing journalists from working in the work area.
“The indecent behavior of representatives of the Ukrainian side reaches physical violence against representatives of the republican media. Yesterday, a representative of the Ukrainian side in the JCCC showed aggression towards a correspondent of the State TV and Radio Company of the LPR, who was filming a report on the bridge near Stanitsa Luganskaya. The attacker tried to take the camera from the journalist, grabbed his hand and tried to drag him into Ukrainian-controlled territory,” Filiponenko said.
In his opinion, these actions are not only a gross violation of Article 34 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which guarantees freedom of speech for citizens, but also pose a threat to the health of media employees.
